The East Coast Classic is the first of its kind, a AAA men's league hockey tournament. Bringing a collection of the areas top athletes together for one weekend to battle it out and see who is the best. | The East Coast Classic announced today the dates of the 3rd Annual ECC, returning to Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. This will mark the second year in a row that the top Men's hockey players will be on the island to compete for the Alden Cup. In addition to the the top AAA division they will add a second weekend, along with a B Division. Founder, Peter Alden said at the press conference, "We feel that we need to step it up again this year and by adding a second weekend and a B Division it enables us to continue to grow." Last year's ECC resulted in many of the areas top professional, college, college-propsect and mens' hockey players headed to the island. |

| The Gators won the 2nd East Coast Classic in fashion and claimed the championship after all a long and grueling weekend. Owner R.J. Gates, "I am so excited. I mean I don't know where these guys came from this weekend, but they showed a lot of heart and determination." The Gators who have played in both tournaments lost the semi-finals the first year in overtime to the eventual winner, Dragon Club. "This is a special moment for me, knowing that the Gators are once on top!" added Gates. Now where is my flippin trouphy! |
